Writer's Block: How I got on LJ
Sep. 14th, 2009 | 03:52 pm
Someone I really loved. I thought it would bring us closer, but I only suceeded in alienating him with my stupidity.

Walking
Aug. 3rd, 2009 | 03:39 pm
I have rediscovered the pleasure of walking. We are speeding through life, and the tempo is increasing beyond reason. Now, as I stroll through neighborhoods, or the grounds surrounding my job, I get to see, hear, smell, and feel everything in exquisite detail. I experience the graceful line of tree bark, the song of a meadow lark, the fragrance of leaves, flowers, and earth, the soft, warm air on my skin. It is lovely, a simple and profound miracle.

Writer's Block: How I got on LJ
Jun. 16th, 2008 | 06:00 pm
Several years ago, an old writer friend in San Jose told me about LIveJournal. I didn't do anything with it until my former music instructor sent me a link to his site a couple of years ago. I was impressed with his entries and decided to give it a try.

Writer's Block: The Eternal Nocturnal Struggle
Jun. 13th, 2008 | 06:13 pm
Do you mean which is more scary, or which is preferable? I feel sorry for werewolves, animal lover that I am. Hmm...vampires might be an alternative sort of population control. The victims die in a state of bliss, don't they?

Writer's Block: Pick an era, any era
May. 12th, 2008 | 06:38 pm
I want to live in a future time where the human race has learned to live peacefully with all the beings that share this beautiful earth, where we have managed to reverse global warming, restore living things to their proper balance, and have moved away from greed, cruelty, sickness, and war. In this future time, enlightenment, art, nature, and love will be valued above all else.

Elegy for Rika, My Calico Sister
Feb. 26th, 2008 | 01:21 pm
mood:
melancholy
Green hills reach for the silver sky.
The sun's smile is shy through the clouds and rain.
The rain is in my eyes, as it has to be,
But you have filled all the places in my heart,
Leaving no other place for pain.

But you have filled all the places in my heart,
Leaving no other place for pain.

Writer's Block: Happily Ever After?
Feb. 15th, 2008 | 11:14 am
Worked on six instruction manuals simultaneously, took a yoga class at lunchtime, had my hair done, bought candy for friends, fed my cats, strays, and a family of racoons, gave fluids to my aging cat, gave an insulin shot to my diabetic cat, wrote a poem, practiced my oud, slept, and dreamed.
